Dear Member,

Since 1936, we’ve proudly served federal employee members by providing better banking solutions. We couldn’t accomplish that without embracing change along the way, and have grown from our original 45 members to more than 6,000 members strong. Along the way we have forged lasting relationships with our members, enhanced access and convenience, and developed our competitive offerings.

In January, we shared the exciting news of change on the horizon: that we will be adopting a new name to better reflect our mission and growing membership.

Today, we are excited to announce our new name and give you more information about what’s ahead. On April 20th, we will enthusiastically open our doors as Forrit Credit Union.

Forrit is a name full of pride and potential. It reflects our enthusiasm for helping to move each of our members forward in their own personal financial journey. It reflects our togetherness and a positive attitude. And it’s a little different than other financial institutions, just like us.

Though our name is changing, we remain deeply committed to enhancing the financial lives of our member-owners. Dedication to our members and to our community remains at the core of who we are, and federal workers will always be a part of the credit union’s heart and soul.

As Forrit Credit Union, we will continue to enhance our capability for long-term sustainable growth. We are honored to serve our current members, and look forward to welcoming more Oregonians who can benefit from what we have to offer, and strengthen our overall organization as new members. Our new name will help us to do this by removing confusion and expanding access to communities in our charter counties.

Our new name is only the beginning of our transformation. You’ll soon see exciting changes in our branch, online, and even the debit and credit cards in your wallet – all designed to better serve you today and into the future. Since our founding in 1936 as Portland Federal Employees Credit Union with 45 members coming together to provide better banking solutions, USAgencies Credit Union has grown and evolved—but always kept that core mission at heart.

Through the years, we have remained committed to serving our unique federal employee group with some of the best personalized service available in our state. We have grown stronger and remained loyal to our members, enhanced access, convenience, and have retained and improved our competitive offerings.

Today, USAgencies is thrilled to announce a decision that will continue our shared legacy and long-term success. We will soon adopt a new name and brand which will better reflect our culture, our commitment to service, and our membership both today and for generations to come. Our new name will be announced in March, and you will be among the first to see the name and our plans for the future.

This decision comes after months of strategic planning to better position the credit union for future growth and success. With a new and more distinctive name and brand, we will enhance our capability for long-term sustainable growth, appeal to diverse audiences, and our ability to provide great service to current and future members.

Please be assured that the name change ahead is not because our credit union was bought out or merged into another financial organization. We are financially strong and sound and will continue to provide all the same services we offer today, delivered with pride by our great staff. Best of all, you will remain a member, and an owner of the credit union.
