Fraud Prevention

Safeguard your information

Help prevent fraudsters from accessing your information by taking some simple steps.

What can you do?

Taking steps to ensure the security of your information can help go a long way in the fight against fraud:

  • Keep personal or account info in a safe place
  • Check your credit report for discrepancies. You get one free report a year from each of the credit reporting agencies (Equifax, Experian, & TransUnion)
  • Create a strong password using the 4 character groups: lower & upper case letters, numbers and special characters
  • Install firewall, anti-virus and anti-spyware on your home computer
  • Set up Account Alerts to receive notices based on events you choose, such as when your account falls below a certain amount
  • Sign up for eStatements. Using online eStatements can prevent mailbox theft. You’ll also get your statements faster online, so if something is amiss, you’ll be alerted sooner.

We also recommend using the following supported browsers when accessing Online Banking:

  • Google Chrome
  • Safari (version 9.0 or above)
  • Internet Explorer (version 11.0 or above)
  • Mozilla Firefox
  • Microsoft Edge

What do we do?

These security features protect your information in Online and Mobile Banking and help prevent unauthorized access to your accounts:

  • Encryption. We encrypt all Online Banking transactions to protect your information from being accessed by external parties
  • Individual Login. You create a personalized Username and Password, which is unique to your personal accounts
  • Timed Log Off. Online and Mobile Banking will end your session after a period of inactivity, reducing the risk that your accounts may be accessed by others if you’ve left your phone or computer unattended
  • Unusual Activity. We protect your debit and credit cards by automatically blocking transactions clearing from other countries and merchants that have a high risk of fraud occurring. If you plan to travel, just let us know – we’ll note that to ensure all your cards work without interruption while you adventure.
